Mary Portas: 'It's going to be a great place to meet, read, think, create and inspire'
12 April 2012

Retail expert Mary Portas is to open a charity shop tomorrow dedicated to arts and culture.

The boutique-style shop in Parsons Green, which will donate profits to Save The Children, will be the fourth Mary's Living & Giving Shop branch to open in two years.

Although it will specialise in culture and books, it will also sell cut-price designer clothes and shoes. So far the chain - which has branches in Edinburgh, Primrose Hill and Westbourne Grove - has raised £87,000 for the charity. The new shop will also stock original artworks, limited edition books and some signed by the authors. Ms Portas, pictured, said: "It really is a fusion of fashion and culture. There will definitely be something for everyone. We've have a spectacular range of original artworks. It's going to be a great place to meet, read, think, create and inspire."
