Marines jittery after car bomb

US marines are increasingly jittery following the detonation of a car bomb which killed four of them at a checkpoint outside Najaf on Saturday.

>A taxi drew up beyond a checkpoint and the driver beckoned over a patrol of marines before detonating a bomb inside the car.

Four marines were killed outright, several more were wounded, while the driver and passengers in the car died instantly.
