'Many hurt' in Tel Aviv bomb blast

12 April 2012

Several people have been injured and some are feared dead after an apparent suicide bomb attack in central Tel Aviv today.

Hours after Israeli forces killed a Hamas militant in a missile strike, the bomb went off on a motor scooter at the old Tel Aviv bus station. It is understood a man was on the scooter at the time.

Israeli radio said it was not immediately clear if the blast was criminal or terrorist. An ambulance spokesman said there were believed to be "many" casualties although the full extent of the injuries was not yet known. Witnesses said up to 10 people may have been hurt.
