Man charged with Janiak murder

12 April 2012

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Natalie Janiak, who was found strangled in an alley after a night out with friends.

Unemployed Alan Dalby, of Blackheath is accused of killing Ms Janiak, a student from Greenwich. Her body was found dumped in the village of Wilmington, near Dartford, Kent, last Saturday, 12 miles from her home.

Natalie's body was found hours after she kissed her Polish-born mother Halina goodbye as she went out. A post mortem revealed she died from asphyxiation.

Her mother described Ms Janiak as someone "everyone loved", adding that she still expected 18-year-old Natalie to come home.
