He achieved success with his Rupert the Bear video for the Frog Song, now Sir Paul McCartney wants to go one better.

The former Beatle hopes to realise a long-term ambition and make a feature-length cartoon based on his own characters.

Sir Paul, 61, has just released a DVD of three short musical animated films, called Paul McCartney: The Music And Animation Collection, made with director Geoff Dunbar. 'My ambition in the Sixties was to make a feature.

He made a Rupert the Bear cartoon to accompany his Frog Chorus song in 1985 and featured in the Beatles' surreal Yellow Submarine film.
