The new exhibition focuses on tension

The London Pump House Gallery and Czech Centre London have launched an exhibition showcasing the dynamic and interactive work of artists Pavla and Lucia Sceranková.

The show, titled "Surface Tension", is the sisters' first major exhibition in the UK.

Using an array of sculptural installations and video-performances, Pavla and Lucia Sceranková have created an exhibition that responds to the unique architecture of the gallery, which is based in Battersea Park.

The subject of tension is at the core of the exhibition: the tension between two artists’ and their work that is being presented at such close quarters, the physical tension within many of the works and the tension of the artists inviting the audience to interact with certain works.

Pavla Sceranková’s sculptural installations are interactive and invite the viewer to explore the relationships between perception and the perceived world.

Lucia Sceranková, on the other hand, makes photographic and sculptural installations which play with illusion, reality and fiction.

This exhibition was initiated by Czech Centre London, organised in partnership with Pump House Gallery and curated by Pump House Gallery and Lily Hall.
