Libya rejects call to try Gaddafi son Saif abroad

Libya's new leaders today vowed Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam would face justice at home as Britain urged the regime to give him a proper trial.

Information minister Mahmoud Shammam said: "It is only fair for the Libyan people that he is tried here ... Saif al-Islam committed crimes against the Libyan people. The ICC is a secondary court." Gaddafi's former spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi was captured last night.
