Killer' father: I followed Bible

Ed Harris12 April 2012

A father charged with killing his daughter by praying instead of taking her to a doctor read from the Bible while testifying in a US court.

Dale Neumann, 47, told the jury in Wisconsin: "If I go to the doctor, I am putting the doctor before God."

He is charged with second-degree reckless homicide in the 2003 death of Madeline, 11, from undiagnosed diabetes.

His wife, Leilani, has been convicted of the charge and faces up to 25 years in jail.
