Jury retires in Old Bailey toddler murder trial

12 April 2012

An Old Bailey jury retired today to consider verdicts in the case of a mother and boyfriend accused of murdering a toddler found with 80 bruises and injuries.

Bobby Louch was 21 months old when he was found dead at his home in December 2008, covered in bruises and with fatal damage to his brain and abdomen.

Collette Harris and James Phillips deny killing him or causing the injuries.

Harris, 30, of Chapel Close, Dartford, Kent, and Phillips, 25, of Dale View, Erith, Kent, deny murder and alternative counts of manslaughter and allowing or causing Bobby's death.
