Jury ponders Martha Stewart fate

THE jury in the Martha Stewart trial in New York begins its deliberations today after hearing the astonishing admission by her lawyer, Robert Morvillo, that she received a secret stock tip before she sold her shares in ImClone.

His statement confirms the prosecution contention that she traded on inside information. But the jury has to decide on a different issue: whether she and her stockbroker, Peter Bacanovic, conspired to cover up the trade.
