Iron Maiden drummer arrested

13 April 2012

Iron Maiden drummer Michael "Nicko" McBrain is facing an assault charge after allegedly hitting a parking attendant with his Jaguar.

The rocker was arrested after trying to go into the VIP parking area before a New York concert on Saturday as part of the band's Give Me Ed ... 'Til I'm Dead tour.

Police allege the heavy metal star threatened to run into the 30-year-old attendant after being asked for his credentials.

The worker claims McBrain then drove forward, hitting his legs and sending him on to the hood of the car, according to Major Richard O'Donnell of the New York State Park Police.

McBrain, 51, was charged with third-degree assault. He is due to appear in court on September 16.

The attendant suffered minor injuries to his legs and hand.
