Inspiring youngsters honoured at Downing Street

London's most inspiring young people were today being honoured at Downing Street.
Finalists in the first Spirit of London Awards, set up in memory of murdered schoolboy Damilola Taylor, were hailed by Gordon Brown as proof that "good can come of evil".
Damilola's father, Richard Taylor, will present the awards tomorrow to young people who are judged to have shown the same positive spirit and community values as his son. The event takes place exactly nine years after the boy's murder.
The Prime Minister said: "The young people I am meeting today give us all hope and I am proud of their achievements. Britain will never be broken while there are young people making our communities better and inspiring us to achieve bigger things."
