When Elizabeth Hurley was the woman in Hugh Grant's life, he let the whole world know.

The glamorous couple were photographed together at countless parties and premieres.

Since their 13-year romance ended the film star has seemed happy as an eligible bachelor.

But now it emerges there has been a special woman in his life - and that in contrast to Miss Hurley, he has preferred to keep her in the background.

Grant's secret love is United Nations worker Kasia Komorowicz, who was seen being kissed passionately by the actor at a party following the premiere of his new film Love Actually this week.

She revealed that the pair have been dating on and off for three years - since around the time Grant broke up with Miss Hurley. The actor arrived at the premiere alone, hinting he had someone 'waiting in the wings' but refusing to say who.

However, guests who saw the passionate moment at the In and Out Club in central London soon found out.

One said: 'As they were talking their heads got closer and closer and then, in front of everyone, they shared this really tender, passionate kiss.'

Grant's passion did not extend to leaving the party with his 30-year-old Polish lover, an IT consultant who hopes to work in Iraq.

She was left to make her own way home while he was driven away with fellow cast members Emma Thompson and Colin Firth. Despite the longevity of their romance, Miss Komorowicz revealed she wished the arrangement was more permanent and admitted Grant could not commit.

'I totally love Hugh, he's amazing and I would love to be with him more but he's all over the place emotionally and I need something solid,' she said.

'But he's a great kisser and we have a fantastic time. We meet up for drinks or dinner and spend nice evenings together.'

Miss Komorowicz, who lives near Grant in Chelsea, West London, met the star five years ago through a mutual friend.

However, she said that for two years they were just friends, adding: 'That's the only way to build up a proper bond - be friends first.'
