How to get there
A large area of west London will be closed to traffic on Sunday and Monday to allow for the huge number of pedestrians enjoying the carnival.
Mike Weston of Transport for London said the easiest way to enjoy the sights and sounds would be to go by bus or Tube, on a bicycle or by foot. "The carnival is a great annual event and we want everyone going to enjoy themselves," he said.
"We advise all carnival-goers to be aware that crowds and road closures could slow you down. Visitors will need to check before they travel and plan their journey to and from the event."
All Underground lines will be running a normal service over the weekend, with a Saturday timetable on Monday.
On the two key lines that serve the carnival area - the Central and Hammersmith and City lines - there will be extra trains.
Ladbroke Grove station, on one of the busiest sections of the carnival route, will be closed on Sunday and Monday, and some other stations in the area will shut early or be "exit only" at certain times on both days to ease congestion.
These include Latimer Road, Notting Hill Gate, Royal Oak and Westbourne Park.
