Hot stuff: Sophie's cardie

She looks like knitting is the last thing on her mind. And bosses at Pringle, who have appointed the sultry Sophie Dahl as their new face (and figure) couldn't be happier.
The 186-year-old knitwear company is shrugging off its fusty image as a favourite of Steve Coogan's spoof chat-show host Alan Partridge in an attempt to attract a more glamorous type of Pringle devotee.
Miss Dahl, in five-inch heels and svelte diamond patterned cardigan, seems to fit the bill. Advertisements featuring the 25-year-old as Miss Argyle, a 1950s-style pin-up, will appear from March as part of the Pringle reinvention.
'We loved Sophie's luscious curves, her wit and charm,' a company spokesman said. ' She exudes British glamour from every pore.'
