Hepburn's Tiffany dress up for sale

12 April 2012

It was the film that turned a doe-eyed actress into an international star.

Now the hot-pink cocktail dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany's is set to fetch a fortune at auction.

Last year the black dress Hepburn wore in the first scene of the 1961 movie went for a record £467,200, so the silk and rhinestone dress is predicted to sell for well over its £15,000 estimate at a Christie's film sale.

A signed 1954 print of Marilyn Monroe standing over a hot air vent is set to fetch £6,000 in the New York auction on 30 May.
