Harry Redknapp's representatives in court over tax evasion charges

Charges: Harry Redknapp outside court
12 April 2012

Lawyers for Premier League manager Harry Redknapp and former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric will appear in court today for a directions hearing over tax evasion charges.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp, 62, and Mandaric, 71, are jointly accused of two counts of cheating the public revenue.

The two men, who are on bail, do not need to attend today's directions hearing in front of judge Peter Testar at Southwark Crown Court in London.

Former Portsmouth manager Redknapp, of Poole, Dorset, and Mandaric, now chairman of Leicester City FC, are charged with evading tax and National Insurance contributions due between April 1 2002 and November 28, 2007.

Redknapp's first name was listed as Henry by the court and Mandaric gave his address as the Walkers Stadium in Leicester.

The two men were charged in January following an inquiry involving City of London Police and HM Revenue and Customs.
