Hammer killer was expecting victim's baby

A woman who killed her lover with a hammer while pregnant with his child was jailed for seven years at the Old Bailey today.

Nadia Boukhari, 43, battered Paul Duffy, 44, after he attacked her when she refused him a cigarette in Stoke Newington. Boukhari, who later had a miscarriage, was convicted of manslaughter.

Housemate John Green, 48, stabbed Mr Duffy twice with a kitchen knife after the fight broke out and was jailed for life for murder. He will serve at least 14 years. The three, who lived together, were alcoholics and had been drinking. Judge Barker said Green had not intended to kill.
