Gunners cheer for RPS at half-time

12 April 2012

ENVIRONMENTAL consultant RPS has calculated the level of noise football fans at Arsenal's new stadium are likely to make and has advised the club on state-of-the-art technology to absorb the cheers (or boos).

It has persuaded worried neighbours and council planners that the noise emanating from the new stadium, just off Holloway Road, will be perfectly acceptable. Building work should start soon.

The Arsenal contract, along with similar environmental impact studies for the Crossrail project and Thames Water, helped the group report a 32% increase in pretax profits of £8.49 million in the first half. Turnover for the six months ended 30 June is up 34% at £47.18 million.

Earnings per share are up 22% to 3.33p and the dividend is 15% higher at 0.76p.
