Got the right trainers?

Athlete Chris Lambert will appear this Saturday (27th) at the Sweatshop in Harrods to promote the importance of appropriate footwear to shoppers.

Lambert, the 100m European Under 23 Champion and World Student Games Champion, will be on hand to recount his personal experiences and meet-and-greet all aspiring runners.

Bowerman trial vans will also be on site to make sure runners are exercising in the correct way and getting the most from their footwear.

An expert will take a participant through their paces on a specifically designed treadmill where individual style and action are recorded on film. By watching the footage back in slow motion a runner, with an expert’s help, can examine how an individual moves and what footwear would work best for them.

The trial van first began touring in the 70s when Nike founder and innovator Bill Bowerman turned up at race meets and sports events letting people try different running footwear.

A wide range of running shoes will be available to road test so that by actually trying a shoe you can find one that’s right for you.

  • Chris Lambert will be in store from 11am-1pm and all testing is free of charge.
