Going in circles to highlight gender gap

City workers made women walk in circles on top of a giant red cube today to highlight gender inequality.

American artist Kate Gilmore, 35, whose work Walk the Line was unveiled in Exchange Square today, said she wanted to turn their mundane working life into a dramatic visual spectacle. Teams of women wearing matching dresses walked without a break for 10 hours.

Jeni Hallam, 21, an arts graduate from Brixton, said: "There's still a lot of chauvinism. This might bring it to people's consciousness."
