Geldof light show goes European

SIR Bob Geldof's spectacular lightshow transformation of London's landmark buildings is to be repeated in other cities in Europe, his Ten Alps media and events company said today.

Parts of London including The Mall came to a standstill as vast images of snowflakes, the Union Flag and sunflowers were projected across Buckingham Palace, Tate Britain and Hyde Park Corner's Wellington Arch.

Ten Alps was paid to stage the Brighten Up London shows by the sponsor, Orange, and will look for sponsorship for similar events. The group is in talks with other cities in Britain, Ireland and Russia.

Geldof is a non-executive director of Ten Alps, and owns about 8.25% of the firm. The events management unit contributes just under a fifth of Ten Alps' annual revenues with the rest coming from television production and advertising. Ten Alps shares rose 1/2p to 27 3/4p today, valuing the group at just over £12m and Geldof 's stake at £1.01m.
