Film-makers up for award for one-minute remakes of classics

Double vision: Amateur actors recreate a famous scene from the real Titanic, right

Two budding film-makers from London have been shortlisted for an award after creating one-minute remakes of blockbusters.

George Pursall, 22, and Nick Jesper, 26, have reached the final five in Empire magazine's Done In 60 Seconds competition.

It invited readers to submit a minute-long remake of a film of their choice and more than 100 applied.

Mr Pursall, a film degree graduate from Ealing, chose to remake Alien. Mr Jesper, a drama school graduate, made a spoof of Titanic on Chelsea Bridge.

He said: "We filmed it as though the old lady had gone senile. She can't remember anything."

The Sony Ericsson Empire Awards will be held at Grosvenor House Hotel on 9 March.
