Festival aims to stir and shake London into the cocktail spirit

Party time: buses will travel between venues
12 April 2012

The world's top mixologists, drinks experts and distilleries have descended on London for the capital's first

The festival, at 50 venues in Shoreditch, Covent Garden, Soho, Mayfair and Notting Hill, includes pop-up bars, cocktail classes, seminars, tastings and parties. Routemaster buses will transport people between venues.

Today gin maker Hendricks is hosting a dinner accompanied by cocktails created and served by leading bartenders aboard a Victorian train carriage. Tomorrow American distillery Four Roses is putting on a gig at The Red Gallery in Shoreditch with Soul Clap, Rocketnumbernine and Ben Westbeech.

Organiser and editor of Class magazine Simon Difford said: "I thought it was about time that we celebrated the cocktail as our American cousins do."
