Fashion graduates blossom with elegant designs

Catwalk: Chinese designer Hoi Lam Wong won Collection Of The Year at the London College of Fashion graduate collection awards

Without a pom-pom or back to-front jump-suit in sight, students from The London College of Fashion took to the catwalk last night with a show that suggested graduate fashion has grown up.

Chinese designer Hoi Lam Wong won Collection Of The Year. Using a Seventies floral print, shown left, Wong turned femininity on its head with masculine tailoring, sequins and boots.

Judging the show in Flower Cellars, Covent Garden, was Fashion East's Lulu Kennedy and Jill Marshall, head of design at Tesco. Alex Rosenwald grabbed their attention with her billowing olive green parachute-inspired pieces.
