12 April 2012

The families of two British servicemen killed in separate attacks in southern Afghanistan paid tribute to them today.

Marine Adam Brown, of 40 Commando Royal Marines, died in an explosion while on foot patrol in Helmand Province on Sunday.

Lance Sergeant Dale Alanzo McCallum, 31, of 1st Battalion Scots Guards, was shot dead on the same day during an operation in Lashkar Gah when his checkpoint was attacked. Marine Brown, 25, married in December last year.

His widow Amy said: "My wonderful husband, my childhood sweetheart and best friend. Always a hero in my eyes."

L/Sgt McCallum's family said: "Dale was a wonderful father, brilliant brother, a loving son."
