Easter Island squatters evicted

Police on Easter Island evicted from a hotel dozens of indigenous protesters battling for a larger share of profits from the tourists who come to see the Pacific Island's statues of giant heads.

The Hito clan have been squatting in the $50 million development since August, claiming the land was swindled from their illiterate grandmother and then illegally sold by General Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile.
