Dubai Briton gets 15 years for ex-lover murder

A Briton was sentenced to 15 years in jail in Dubai today after being convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend.
Mark Arnold, 43, from Stoke-on-Trent, was found guilty of the murder of South African Kerry Winter.
Ms Winter was last heard from in August 2008 when she phoned a friend to say that Arnold had followed her to a hotel. Her family claim that Arnold had been harassing her since their five-year relationship ended in May that year.
Arnold, who had lived in London, was working at an interior design firm. He flew to Britain two days after the disappearance and returned to Dubai three days later, when he was arrested.
Ms Winter's body has never been found. Her family fears Arnold hid it in concrete at a building site.
