Dry run for wheelie bin that is also urinal

12 April 2012

A wheelie bin that has been converted into a urinal was used by five men in two hours in a street during a test run to cut antisocial behaviour.

The bin is the idea of designer Stephan Bischof, 24, of Honor Oak. It has a funnel on one side and liquid flows into a base, separate from the bin.

The urine is mixed with dry grass to turn it into a bio-fertiliser.

He said: "I want to raise awareness of the fact that public toilets are closing." Mr Bischof is looking for backers.
