Police believe a 17-yearold student who died at a £500,000 home may have overdosed on ecstasy.

Jack Elliott was pronounced dead after an ambulance arrived at the property in the village of Curdridge, near Fareham, Hampshire, at 6am yesterday. Police said they are investigating local drug dealers. Inspector Simon Wrigglesworth added: "Drugs are certainly one of our lines of inquiry. The cause of death isn't clear cut at the moment."

A post-mortem was taking place today. Mr Elliott was studying three A-levels in Winchester.
