DJ Cox-up over subtitles tweet

BBC Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox has apologised after her tweets about subtitles in a film offended deaf people.

The star later claimed she had not realised they were on screen for the hard of hearing and instead thought they were for the benefit of tourists.

The DJ came under fire from deaf people after attending the cinema screening of romcom Bridesmaids and tweeting: "How daft is this? I'm on a date at flicks & bridesmaids is gonna have English subtitles."
