Divorce: Frost accuses Law

13 April 2012

Sadie Frost today accused her husband Jude Law of driving her to depression as their six-year marriage fell apart.

Detailed documents submitted as part of her "quickie" divorce hearing claimed for the first time how his behaviour led to her needing treatment for psychological difficulties.

Frost said that Law "increased the effect of post-natal depression leading me to have to take treatment three times".

Frost, 37, was admitted to London's Cromwell Hospital in February suffering with severe post-natal depression.

The revelations emerged as the couple's troubled marriage was brought to an end in a 75-second hearing in London today.

The names of the two stars, formally listed as Frost SL v Law DJH, were 14th to be read out in a list of 31 uncontested divorces. According to the documents the marriage had "irretrievably broken down" because of Law's "unreasonable behaviour".

Frost will now have six weeks to formally have the decree made final which would leave them both free to re-marry. Law, was ordered to pay costs of the divorce proceedings.

The couple, who married in 1997, separated at the beginning of the year and Law moved out of their £2.2 million Primrose Hill home.

Law, 31, who starred in The Talented Mr Ripley and Steven Spielberg's AI, was issued with divorce papers by his wife in August.

In a statement issued at the time actress and clothes designer Frost said she had come "very reluctantly" to the decision that the marriage was over.

She added: "We have agreed that a divorce is the only way forward, but we have equally agreed that we will do everything in our power to make certain that this is as painless a process as possible for the children."

Since their split Frost has been seeing Jackson Scott, 22, while Law has been linked to actress Sienna Miller.
