Public services:

Airports: Holidaymakers threatened with fresh round of disruption following the ninetoone vote in favour of strikes by baggage handlers.

Tube: RMT, largest of rail unions, which staged yesterday's Tube walkout over safety, threatens more. Also a second dispute bubbling, this time over pay and involving all the unions.

Rail: Pay claims by Aslef, train drivers' union, have resulted in three 48-hour stoppages ordered for next month disrupting services operated by First North Western. Train drivers on Merseyside also being balloted for strike action. RMT ordered more strikes on Arriva Trains Northern, affecting guards.

Fire-fighters: National pay talks with employers nearing breakdown. Meeting next week but that is also expected to result in deadlock - meaning a national walkout.
