Did killer attend Muller service?

The killer of American artist Margaret Muller may have attended a memorial service to commemorate her death, it emerged today.

Detectives are studying video footage of more than 100 people who attended the open air service on Tuesday held at the scene of the 27-year-old's murder in Victoria Park, Hackney.

Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Shatford, who is leading the murder hunt, said: "We are conscious that whoever was responsible may have been tempted to turn up and we were prepared."

He said that 14 people who were near-by when Ms Muller was repeatedly stabbed as she jogged through the rose garden had now contacted police after the anniversary appeal.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8345 1594 or ring the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
