13 April 2012

Diana Ross will plead guilty to charges of drinkdriving and faces spending time in jail, according to reports.

Ross, 59, is said to have agreed a deal under which she will appear "telephonically" at the hearing on 9 February in Tuscon, Arizona, over the incident in 2002 when she was found with twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream.

A conviction on the least severe drink driving charge usually carries a sentence of 24 hours. "It's unlikely that she's going to do less than a day in jail," said one Tucson defence lawyer.
