Deepcut rape suspect in court
A former Army training instructor appeared in court today accused of indecently assaulting two young male recruits and raping one of them at Deepcut Barracks.
Leslie Skinner, 45, of Stafford Close, Marton, Lincolnshire, is charged with one count of male rape and four counts of indecent assault against one male during 1996.
He is further charged with another count of indecent assault against a different person between 1996 and 1997.
Skinner, who has dark cropped hair and was wearing a light blue shirt and dark blue tie, appeared before Guildford Crown Court in Surrey today and spoke only to confirm his identity.
His case was adjourned until August 29 for a plea and directions hearing.
Skinner was released on conditional bail.
The offences are alleged to have taken place while Skinner, a former lance corporal, was serving with the Royal Logistics Corps at the Princess Royal Barracks at Deepcut.
