A blundering German doctor who killed a British man with an injection of painkillers has been fined £6,000 in his homeland - but can carry on practising.

Daniel Ubani, 68, was a locum at an out-of-hours service in Cambridgeshire in 2008 when he gave David Gray, 70, a diamorphine overdose. An inquest ruled it was unlawful killing.

But in a deal with German prosecutors, Ubani, who lives in the town of Witten, was fined and given a nine-month suspended jail sentence.
