Craft and country comes to town

CRAFT AND COUNTRY SHOW

Rural activities and entertainments, plus one of the largest craft fairs in the South East. Watch medieval fighting knights, birds of prey, dogtraining displays and bet on the ferret race (organised by a ferret protection charity).

Displays of old industries include besom broom-making, dry-stone walling and charcoal burning. Crafts to buy are housed in 10 marquees, with another for dolls houses and miniatures (Fri & Sat) and teddy bears (Sun). Entertainment is provided by Croydon Brass Band, steel pan and ukelele groups and line dancers, and for the children there's a fairground, puppet and magic shows. Go on Sunday if you want to see the Human Fireball, who sets himself alight and leaps off a 50ft tower.
