Congestion Charge Zone

The RAC Foundation has identified key pressure points around the charging zone, describing how they will be hit:

1. Marylebone Road: "Many people will try to find alternatives, so nearby roads will suffer considerably."

2. Pentoville Road: "Islington will suffer. Not many through streets, and the few there are will be badly affected."

3. Old Street/City Road: "Traffic will be at a constant standstill."

4. Commercial Street: "We dread to think what will happen."

5. Kennington Lane: "Totally unsuited for more traffic. Will make residents' lives hell."

6. Vauxhall Bridge Road: "Already hideous congestion - avoidance will cause terrible traffic problems."

7. Edgware Road: "People will avoid the area like the plague - business will suffer."
