Colleges unite in the name of art

Five of the capital's internationally renowned colleges are to merge to create University of the Arts London.

An inauguration ceremony today will see the creation of the largest university in Europe dedicated only to the creative arts.

The merging colleges, which together have 24,000 students, are Central Saint Martin's College, Chelsea College of Art, Camberwell College of Arts, London College of Communication and London College of Fashion.
