Coach crash pupils to fly home

12 April 2012

One of the survivors of a coach crash in France which killed a 15-year-old girl and seriously injured nine others, leaves hospital before returning to Britain today.

A plane carrying 31 pupils and two teachers who were on a school trip to Barcelona, arrived at Glasgow Airport at 2.45am. The group returned home as the British driver of the coach, Mark Chisholm, was recovering in hospital and police waited to question him about the accident in which the bus hit a crash barrier and rolled over.

Katherine Fish, who was sleeping at the back of the coach, died at the scene of the crash. Six other pupils and three teachers from Largs Academy, North Ayrshire, were badly hurt, including English teacher David McCluskey, 34, who lost an arm.
