Children hospital's plea to recycle old phones

Evening Standard13 April 2012

The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity is calling on Londoners to recycle mobile phones and printer cartridges to help raise £25,000 by the end of the year.

The money will be used to update wards. Over six years the project has already raised £75,000.

To take part, send unwanted phones and cartridges - freepost - to recycling charity Redeem, which sells them on intact or as components and returns the money raised to the hospital.

Jamie Rae, chief executive of Redeem, said: "By donating your disused phones you really can make a massive difference and help Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity reach their goal that will really benefit the patients and their families."
