Cherie Blair, who suffered a miscarriage, is well known for her busy schedule. We look at her engagements over the past month.

? 9 July: Meets the production team and the cast of the new West End musical Bombay Dreams

? 10 July: Launches an attack on Britain's overcrowded jails and calls for drastic cut in prison population when she gives the inaugural Longford lecture in Westminster.

? 19 July: Unveils portrait of herself in Liverpool.

? 26 July: Tours the North-East with her husband, visiting new maternity and heart units at University Hospital of North Durham.

? 1 August: Matrix, the legal chambers specialising in human rights that Mrs Blair cofounded, breaks for August

? 1-4 August: Travels to Cumbria and Cheshire for a four-day break with her family, enjoying visits to birds-of-prey sanctuary, the set of the television soap Hollyoaks and a village pub lunch.

? 4 August: Travels to Manchester where she sits in a stand at the Commonwealth Games all evening in torrential rain wearing a summer outfit with just a plastic mac to protect her from the appalling weather.

? 6 August: The Blairs' scheduled departure for family holiday in France is delayed after she is rushed to hospital overnight.
