Chelsea Clinton's mystery man

Chelsea Clinton spent a night at a gay London nightclub, and left with a mystery man.

The 21-year-old daughter of former US President Bill and his wife Hillary spoke to reporters outside Heaven in Charing Cross but would not reveal the identity of her friend.

Wearing a fitted, pin-striped trouser suit and white-patterned shirt, Miss Clinton, more often seen at black-tie balls, looked delighted with the diversion from her social routine.

Since arriving in Britain last year she has forgotten initial complaints about anti-American feeling and now enjoys going out in both London and Oxford, where she is following a two-year post-graduate course in international relations at University College.

Friends include Paul McCartney and his fianc?e Heather Mills, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna, as well as US students at Oxford. They insist Chelsea, who was spotted at a pre-Christmas Red Cross charity ball in London with American Ian Klause, has no official boyfriend.

But fellow students say Miss Clinton has transformed herself into an elegant young woman, and suggest a new admirer may be behind the change.
