With three of Hollywood's most glamorous actresses there, you might have expected the film premiere to be a classy event.

You'd have been wrong.

Firstly Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore arrived at a pre-show party on foot, waving a near-empty champagne bottle and looking decidedly pleased to be there.

Then Demi Moore turned up for the screening in a dress which was cut so low it was almost a skirt. Several inches of lacy bra were on show.

The stars were in New York for the premiere of their film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, the sequel to the hit 2000 movie based on the 1970s TV series.

Miss Diaz, 30, and Miss Barrymore, 28, were being chauffeured to the prepremiere party at the Trump Plaza Hotel when they decided to walk the rest of the way - all the while carrying on drinking their champagne.

That was a direct flouting of New York laws, which ban drinking in the street and say that all bottles must be concealed in brown paper bags. An onlooker said: 'They were clearly drunk and not that steady on their feet, although they looked like they were having a good time.

'They have got a lot of young fans - Cameron especially is popular after lending her voice to Princess Fiona in Shrek - and it definitely doesn't set a good example to them.'

For 40-year- old Miss Moore, the event was clearly a chance to show off the £250,000 of cosmetic surgery she is said to have undergone since splitting from husband Bruce Willis in 1998.

A fan who watched her walk up the red carpet with her 25-year-old actor lover Ashton Kutcher said: 'Demi looked amazing but her dress didn't exactly leave a lot to the imagination.

'There was no doubt she meant to have her bra on display - you could tell from the way the dress was designed. Ashton didn't seem to mind. He looked delighted to be by her side.'
