Caroline attacker 'should be jailed for life'

13 April 2012

Sexual predator Francisco Arce Montes should go to jail for life with no possibility of parole for 22 years, the prosecution told the Caroline Dickinson murder trial today.

Prosecutor Francois-Rene Aubray asked the jury to "condemn Montes for murder".

He said: "He faces the maximum of life imprisonment and in view of the seriousness of the crime, his nature and his personality, I do not see what else I could ask for."

Earlier Mr Aubray described Montes as a sexual deviant, with his life devoted to sex crimes.

He said: "What has this man done in his life?

"He has done nothing positive in his life. He has done nothing except wander around from youth hostel to youth hostel, looking for young girls of 13 years of age to rape, looking for a few seconds of sexual satisfaction."

"He doesn't have the excuse of a mental illness," he said. "There is nothing in his life which could give an explanation or an excuse."

He said Montes had had a normal family and a father who adored him.
