Iconic photographs of film stars Sean Connery, Brigitte Bardot, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor will go on sale for the first time this week.

The limited edition prints are part of an exhibition entitled "It Girls & Boys" taken by veteran British photographer Terry O'Neill.

The 73-year-old photographer's work will be shown at the Little Black Gallery in Chelsea from September 2 until October 26.

O'Neill recalled shooting Connery and Bardot as part of a publicity shoot in Deauville, France, in 1968.

He said: "They got on like a house on fire. There weren't any bigger sex symbols than Bardot and Connery. They were a fab couple.

"It was the first time that I had met Bardot. She was sensational. If her English had been better then she would have been a huge, huge star."

Swinging Sixties photographer O'Neill added: "The so-called celebrities of today have none of the oomph and sex appeal of the stars back then."
