BT staff transfer in £100m contract

BRITISH Telecom is to transfer 377 IT workers to Computacenter in a £100m contract to outsource the support and maintenance of its thousands of personal computers.

Computacenter already works with BT and this contract is similar to last year's outsourcing of 500 accounting and finance staff to Xansa in a £200m contract.

BT said staff in its data and desktop services business had been offered jobs with Computacenter with a guarantee of at least one year's work.
