A new art exhibition by Bob Dylan includes giant iron gates on sale for several hundred thousand pounds.

Dylan, 72, sketches on tour and has works on show at the National Portrait Gallery. For these sculptures, at the Halcyon Gallery in New Bond Street, he drew on his experience growing up in the Iron area of Minnesota.

Dylan said: “I’ve been around iron all my life ever since I was a kid. I was born and raised in iron ore country — where you could breathe it and smell it every day.”

Yesterday France presented US singer Bob Dylan with its highest award, the Légion d’honneur.
