Blair faces MEP revolt

Tony Blair faces a revolt today by Labour MEPs who want a 48-hour limit placed on the British working week.
The Labour group in the European Parliament is expected to join socialist colleagues by voting to scrap British exemption from the Working Time Directive, therefore imposing the limit.
Despite pressure from unions, Mr Blair has defended the opt-out, arguing that a flexible labour market is essential.
